When are PPT meetings held?
Every school in the district has a set day of the week when we schedule PPTs. Griswold's PPT day for the 2014-2015 school is year is Tuesday. PPTs are typically held between the hours of 8:30-3:45, and we will give you advanced notice so you can make arrangements with your employer if needed in order to attend your child's meeting. We schedule them this way so that all necessary service providers are available on the same day for your child's PPT, and so we can plan your child's service hours so they do not conflict with these meetings.

What is a progress report?
Progress reports are an update on how your child is progressing towards meeting his/her goals and objectives on their IEP. Progress reports will be mailed home 3 times throughout the school year or 4 times if your child receives Extended School Year services. They are sent home in the mail at the same time as report cards. Each goal and objective will be scored using the key at the bottom of the goals and objectives page of the IEP.
Key:
M=Mastered (your child has successfully met his or her goal or objective)
S=Satisfactory Progress (Your child has not yet met the goal, but is making steady progress on the goal or objective.)
N=No Progress (Your child is not yet showing gains on this goal or objective.)
NI=Not Introduced (Instruction has not yet begun for this goal or objective.)
U=Unsatisfactory Progress (Your child has not made sufficient progress and is unlikely to master his/her goal or objective.)

What is Extended School Year and who is eligible?
Extended School Year (ESY) is provided to some students during the summer. It is important to note that ESY is the exception and not the rule. If your child's team feels these services are necessary, they will be discussed at the annual review meeting. There are several factors that are taken into account when recommending summer school: the nature and severity of the disability, whether the team feels the student will lose critical skills over the summer without additional instruction, whether their behavior impacts their ability to make progress during the regular school year, and the need for additional peer interaction. ESY is typically a 4 week program during the month of July/early August and takes place Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 8:30-11:30 for a total of 9 hours a week. In 2015, summer school will be held July 7-29th. It is a district wide program that is held at one of the three elementary schools, and transportation to and from the school is provided . If your child qualifies, further information will be mailed home at the end of the school year.
